VOSI is a standards development organization
(SDO) that only writes consensus standards for "Public Safety", "Public
Health" and the "Environment". This avoids the pitfalls of "special interest"
standards which often conflict with the health and safety needs of
people and may adversely effect the natural environment. VOSI research-based
consensus standards are based on a new concept, "Humanistic Capitalism", which puts the safety and health needs of people
and the environment ahead of the
arrogant, "profit - only" motivation of
capitalism.

"Humanistic
Capitalism" requires that both manufacturers and
governments be accountable and responsible for the effects
of their products and actions on the health and safety of
people and the environment. Democratic governments, as representatives
of people and stewards of the environment, must insure that "Humanistic Capitalism"
replaces capitalism. All present so-called
democracies are in fact 'demockeries' which only represent
powerful special interests at the expense of their citizens
(see below for the definition of demockery). To use capitalism's
'bottom-line', governments and corporations are being
forced by VOSI to obey the US National Standards Strategy (USNSS) and the National Technology Transfer and Advancement Act of 1995 (NTTAA)
and use standards which benefit the health and safety of
people and the environment.

VOSI is attempting to form a worldwide link to allow people, industries and governments to participate in the consensus standards development process.

VOSI is a not-for-profit organization which has neither membership dues or formal meetings. Members are encouraged to communicate with each other by either fax or e-mail. The only income VOSI has is from the
donations of viewers of its approved, research-based VOSI "Public Safety", "Public Health"
& "Environmental" standards. All VOSI standards can be viewed on-line at no

VOSI, the American National
Standards Institute (ANSI) and The American Society
for Testing and Materials (ASTM) are 3 of the
210 "Private Sector Standards Sites" listed by the National Institutes of Standards &
Technology (NIST). The VOSI/NIST SDO liaison committee notifies
these SDOs, which include ASTM & ANSI, whenever VOSI
standards are balloted. This allows members of these SDOs to
participate in the VOSI consensus standards development
process during both the standards development and public
review phases.

VOSI's "Technical Issues Review Board"
(TIRB) makes
decisions on all standards that conflict with VOSI standards based on a technical
review.

TIRB.

VOSI invites ASTM and
ANSI committees, which are typically represented by
government and industry special interests, to jointly
participate with the VOSI task groups in developing public
safety, public health and environmental standards for
people.

VOSI is dedicated to overthrowing "Capitalism"
and substituting "Humanistic Capitalism"
(see "Public Health" V50.4 "Standard for
World Health Organization Participation in VOSI Standards
Development"). This revolution is in progress.

VOSI is requiring all
levels of government (federal, state and local) to enforce the US National Standards Strategy
(USNSS) (see V-Moving Forward 2 —Address the ongoing need
for standards in support of health, safety and the environment), as
incorporated in the NIST Memo of Understanding with ANSI and
the
National Technology Transfer and Advancement Act of 1995 (NTTAA) (see
SEC. 12. STANDARDS CONFORMITY, sections 2b Section 2(b) of the
National Institute of Standards and Technology Act , and new
paragraph section 3 & 13) to utilize VOSI
"Public Safety", "Public Health" & "Environmental
Issues" standards.
Both documents require that VOSI
"Public Safety", "Public Health" & "Environmental
Issues" be reviewed and utilized whenever applicable. Current VOSI standards require action by NIST, CPSC, FDA, CDC, DOEd,
EPA and the
Building Officials in local government. None of these federal agencies
have reviewed or commented on VOSI standards (DEMOCKERY !).

Note: VOSI Liaison committees consist of people
who are in responsible positions for enforcing both the USNSS and the NTTAA: the
Interagency Committee on Standards Policy (ICSP) of the National Institute
of Standards & Technology (NIST), the US Senate, the House of
Representatives and the Member Nations of the United Nations.
Membership in VOSI is Free. We are inviting all
visitors to this website to join VOSI. As a VOSI member, you can both
ballot and comment on proposed VOSI standards and research reports. Activists
are needed to contact the bureaucrats responsible for enforcing both the
USNSS and the NTTAA.
